Additional Workshop Information
Guy Shomroni, will be leading Gaga/dancers classes throughout the first week of the workshop and 2 different works of repertory choreographed by Ohad Naharin, one of the worlds preeminent contemporary choreographers. We are honoured and excited to be the first open workshop in Vancouver, Canada that is open the public to participate in exploring the renowned choreographers movement language, as well as delving into the repertoire that has stunned audiences around the world. This class gives dancers an opportunity to learn excerpts of Ohad Naharin’s choreographic works and to apply their training in Gaga to the repertory. Guy will also be leading open Gaga/people classes during the first week, in the evenings, following the completion of the workshop day.
Shay Kuebler, will be providing repertoire and his own movement technique derived from one of Vancouver, Canada's leading companies Shay Kuebler Radical System Art. We are privileged to have such an amazing artist sharing insight and knowledge on his own companies work. To have a choreographer who is in such demand by the dance scene, a part of this workshop, will be quite an experience to remember. Shay Kuebler is constantly seeking inspiration from dancers and looking out for new dancers to work with in future projects.
Amy Morrow, will be leading Gaga/dancers classes throughout the second week of the intensive, as well as bringing the TBX [Toolbox Series] which uniquely crafts each session for artists and participants to further their mission as artist/citizens. These sessions will be in collaboration with Nicolas Ventura. Amy Morrow will also be leading open Gaga/peopleclasses, during the second week on the intensive, following the completion of the workshop day.
Choreographic Creation Process, Guy Shomroni will also be developing creative sessions of his own work with Yasmin Mahmoud by delving in exploring movement and choreographic tools. This will be a thrilling day where dancers are provided the experience of working with a choreographer/choreographers on an intimate level - given feedback - and provided insight on the artists tools in creating. Through-out the day a photographer and professional cinematographer will be on location, documenting the collaborative process with the choreographers and dancers. Selected photos and film are to be provided to the dancers for personal use by Addo Platform following the completion of the workshop.
