Additional Workshop Information
Guy Shomroni, will be leading Gaga/dancers classes throughout the first week of the workshop and repertoire, choreographed by Ohad Naharin, one of the worlds preeminent contemporary choreographers. We are honoured and excited to be the first platform providing this type of workshop in Cascais, Portugal. It will be open the public to participate in exploring the renowned choreographers movement language, as well as delving into the repertoire that has stunned audiences around the world. These classes give dancers an opportunity to learn excerpts of Ohad Naharin’s choreographic works and to apply their training in Gaga to the repertory. Guy will also be leading open Gaga/people classes during the first week, in the evenings.
Hugo Marmelada, will be providing repertoire and his own movement technique in the second week of the intensive. He has worked with some of the best dance companies in the world, and will be providing insight on the choreographic process he has gained over his professional years. We are privileged to have such an amazing artist sharing insight and knowledge on his own artistic vision. Hugo will be working with the dancers on a new creation process, seeking inspiration from dancers and looking out for new dancers to work with in future projects. This will be a thrilling day where dancers are provided the experience of working with a choreographer on an intimate level - given feedback - and provided insight on the artists tools in creating.
Yasmin Mahmoud, will be leading a new creation process with the dancers, alongside Guy Shomroni, in the first week.
Margarida Macieira & Nicolas Ventura, will be leading leading their CreativeLab Session, which delves into movement research and providing new movement tools for professional dancers to use in their dance practice.
Alvin Collantes, will be providing Gaga/dancer classes in the intensive, as well as leading our Improvisation Jam each week as our live DJ.
